Here is a story of a father's evening with his two daughters,Sarah and Jane(younger).
"One evening ,with my daughters, taught me a powerful lesson. It was an organized outing, complete with food, amusement park and a movie.
In the middle of the movie , Jane, fell asleep in her seat while Sarah was awake and we both enjoyed watching it. When it was over, I picked Jane up in my arms, carried her out to the car and laid her in the back seat. It was a very cold night, so I took off my coat and gently arranged it over and around her.
When we arrived home, I quickly carried Jane in and tucked her into bed. After some work done,I laid down next to Sarah to discuss the night out together.
"How'd you like it,Sarah?"
"Fine",she answered.
"Did you have fun?"
"Yes."
"What did you like most?"
"I don't know. The trampoline in the park, I guess."
"That was quite a thing, wasn't it - doing those somersaults and tricks in the air like that?"
There wasn't much response on her part.I found Sarah not talkin up much as she usually used to do when excited.
I sensed something was wrong; she had been so quiet on the way home and getting ready for bed.
Suddenly Sarah turned over on her side to the wall. I wondered why and lifted up myself just enough to see her eyes welling up with tears.
"What's wrong , honey? What is it?"
I could feel her embarrassment for the tears.
" Daddy, if I were cold, would you put your coat around me, too?"
Of all the events of that special night out together, the most important was a little act of kindness -a momentary, unconscious showing of love to her little sister."
P.S.~ People are very tender, very sensitive inside. Nothing makes much difference. Inside, even within the most toughened exteriors, are the tender feelings and emotions of the heart.
